Product Description
Why is buoyancy control so important while diving? Buoyancy is vital because it helps divers control their position underwater, conserve energy, and prevent damage to fragile marine environments. Under the expert guidance of our instructors, divers can improve their buoyancy skills with either the SDI Advanced Buoyancy Workshop or the SDI Advanced Buoyancy Certification. Both SDI Advanced Buoyancy Courses start with a pool session to practice buoyancy techniques. The certification class goes a step further with two lake dives to allow divers to gain real-world experience.
Topics covered include:
- Importance of Buoyancy: Understand the significance of buoyancy control for efficient and enjoyable diving.
- Environmental Conservation: Learn to avoid touching aquatic life to preserve marine ecosystems.
- Energy Conservation: Discover how proper buoyancy reduces fatigue and air consumption, allowing for longer dives.
- Buoyancy Checks: Understand when and how to perform buoyancy checks during dives.
- Equipment Considerations: Explore factors affecting buoyancy, such as additional gear and cylinder weight changes.
- Breathing Techniques: Master breathing patterns and lung use for buoyancy control.
- Weight Distribution: Learn about the impact of weight positioning and distribution on buoyancy.
- Equipment Streamlining: Understand the importance of streamlining gear and body position for efficient diving.
- Skill Practice: Participate in exercises to refine buoyancy control, including hovering, swimming, and controlled descents.
- Buoyancy Check Procedures: Demonstrate proper buoyancy check techniques with both empty and full cylinders.
